Food Drive
Helping Hands Food Pantry extends its heartfelt gratitude to the St. Pius parishioners for your generous donations in August. Thanks to your continued kindness and support, 27 bags and 3 boxes of food and toiletries were delivered to the Food Pantry! The next collection weekend will be September 26th. – 27th. Your donations provide meals and essential items for local families and are deeply appreciated. Thank you for generosity and support! God bless you!

I am developing quite beautifully now. At 1 1/2 to 2 pounds and 12 inches long, I am twice as big as I was last month. I am sitting up most of the time to accommodate the final movement of my internal organs. From 26 weeks, babies exhibit a whole range of typical baby behavior and moods, including scratching, smiling, crying, hiccupping, and sucking. Babies born prematurely at this time have a very good chance of surviving. Don’t forget to pray for my mother and me.

40 Days for Life
The 40 Days for Life is an international prayer and fast campaign for the closure of abortion facilities and the saving of lives, in remembrance of Jesus fasting and praying in the desert for 40 days.
This year the 40 Days for Life runs from September 23rd until November 1st. Please help save lives by fasting and praying for an end of abortion in your community. Below we have listed several suggestions for ways you can participate.
Take a family member or friend on the day of your choosing and pray peacefully outside of Planned Parenthood (3255 E. Main St. Columbus, Oh).
Join a group to pray with by contacting The Greater Columbus Right to Life at gcrtl.org.
Pray the Novena To Our Blessed Mother to End Abortion at novenatoendabortion.org, the Rosary or the Divine Mercy Chaplet daily at home.
Pray at Adoration in a church or while live streaming on EWTN TV or on Facebook.
Choose a day to fast or give up something like we do during Lent.
As Pope St. John Paul II stated in Evangelium Vitae (Gospel of Life), " Having received the gift of the Gospel of Life, we are the people of life and a people for life. It is our duty to proclaim the Gospel of Life to the world.”

The Ohio Mass for Life will take place at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Joseph Cathedral in downtown Columbus. The Mass will be followed by the Ohio March for Life at the Ohio Statehouse with the Rally starting at 11a.m.

On Monday mornings, we will be offering a meaningful study with the book, Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist, by Brant Pitre. This beautiful book gives us all we need for the appreciation of the Eucharist now, by understanding Passover and Jesus’ purpose for instituting the Eucharist during that feast in his lifetime on Earth. We’ll explore early Jewish beliefs about the Passover, the manna from heaven, and the Bread of the Presence. We will learn how Jesus united the Last Supper to his passion, death, and resurrection. This book contains a study guide that presents key points, bible passage references, and questions which we will use for discussion in every session. (There will be very light and interesting reading involved, but no other homework). Please join us! Everyone is invited to attend the annual Red Mass on October 29, 2026, 5:15 p.m., at St. Joseph Cathedral. This Mass invokes the wisdom of the Holy Spirit for all justice professions in the Diocese. Even if you don't practice Law, you are encouraged to come to mass and pray alongside those who do.
Gold Mass
Please Join in to participate in the 5th annual Gold Mass for Diocesan musicians on Sunday, November 22, 2026, at 5:15 p.m. at Saint Joseph Cathedral, 212 E Broad St, Columbus. We'll meet at 4:00 p.m. for a warm-up/rehearsal. The rehearsal will take place on Monday, November 16th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Cathedral. At this Mass we ask the Holy Spirit to bless all those who work in music ministry, both professionally and as volunteers, a truly important labor for the glory of God and the sanctification of souls. The Gold Mass calls to mind the tremendous importance of music and the arts for society as well as the need to orient all that is beautiful and artful toward the Divine Creator.
